Tim teaches music lessons. This ruel monitors his [email protected] Google calendar for events that have “lesson” in the subject. (These are just examples — your rule could look for any other criteria in calendar events.)
1 day before the lesson, a reminder is sent from Tim’s Gmail address to the attendees on the Google Calendar event. For example,
Reminder: Your piano lesson is tomorrow at 4:00 PM. We will meet on Zoom. Here is the link: zoom.us/1234567. See you then!
2 hours before the lesson, it sends SMS messages to phone numbers indicated in the Google Calendar event. For example:

This rule monitors the [email protected] Google calendar for events that have “training session” in the subject. (These are just examples — your rule could look for any other criteria in your calendar events)
This rule sends an SMS reminder 1 day before the training session; and another SMS reminder 2 hours before the training session. The reminder is sent to the phone number(s) found in the description of the Google Calendar event.
By simply creating an event named “Sally & [client name] – training session” on the Google calendar, and typing “sms reminder:[client’s phone number]” in the description of the event, the desired SMS reminders are automatically sent.
